Visit the Jordanelle Reservoir During Your Stay
Explore on Land
Before you head into the water, check out some of the great things to do at nearby Jordanelle State Park. There are three main access points to get into the park:
- The first is Hailstone, which offers boating and camping facilities, as well as pavilions and areas.
- Rock Cliff is less developed, with only one boat ramp. Here, you’ll also find the Rock Cliff Nature Center. This is the perfect break from the sun. The center educates visitors on the flora and fauna of the area. There are four hiking and biking trails in this section as well. The Perimeter Trail is the most popular, stretching over 15 miles from Rock Cliff to Crandall Point, which is near Hailstone. It’s perfect for hiking, biking, or even horseback riding!
- Finally, Ross Creek is the place to go for anyone hoping to spend the afternoon fishing. It has a non-motorized boat ramp for kayakers, canoers, and paddleboarders.
Jordanelle State Park isn’t just a summertime destination! During the snowy months, you can enjoy ice fishing on the reservoir and snowshoeing the park’s trails!
Spend Time on the Water
There are two ways to enjoy the water at the Jordanelle Reservoir. The first is to spend time at the Jordanelle swim beach, located in the park. This popular beach is a favorite among locals. It’s a wakeless zone, which means that you’ll enjoy calm, gentle waters during your visit. It’s perfect for families traveling with younger kids. If you’d prefer to spend time on the water, head to the Jordanelle Rentals & Marina to rent a boat, jet ski, kayak, or stand-up paddleboard. They are open every day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., but they ask for guests to call in advance during the fall season. There’s also a pro-shop and general store near the reservoir that carries watersports supplies as well as everything you’ll need to go fishing. You can also rent snowmobiles and ATVs from this shop.
