When Does It Start Snowing in Park City, Utah?

There are two possible answers to this question. You may be asking when it gets cold enough around here to start snowing naturally. Though Park City has had some late-starting winters lately, it typically begins to lightly snow in late November. The snow will usually stay until early April, which coincides with Park City Mountain Resort’s normal ski season.

However, if you’re asking when Park City first gets snow, the answer is a little different. After those late winters that we mentioned before, the Park City Mountain Resort introduced their state-of-the-art snowmaking system! Now, visitors can start exploring the mountain much earlier in the year versus resorts who rely on natural snow. Plus, since the resort decides where the snow goes, visitors have access to even more of the resort. With 348 trails totaling to 7,300 acres of perfectly groomed land, that means that you’ll never have to ski the same slope twice.

Stay Up to Date on the Mountain

It’s hard to picture what the trails look like without actually being here. If you want the latest info on Park City’s weather, the Park City Mountain breaks down the highs and lows for you in a seven-day forecast at four locations at the resort. You can also get the grooming report, which details how they groom the mountain, as well as see a map of which trails recently were groomed and which are scheduled for maintenance. If you need to see it to believe it, check out their mountain cam! You can see views from Silverlode Outlook, Park City Mountain, Crescent Ridge, and the Park City Mountain Village.
