Choose the Best Time to Visit Park City For You

Winter

Winter is definitely the most popular season to visit Park City. As snow covers the surrounding mountains, our area becomes an epicenter for winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. Along with those two activities, there are plenty of unique adventures to be had! Park City hosts the infamous Sundance Film Festival each year around January. If you love animals, try out some dog sledding. Another fun way to explore the area but with more of an adrenaline rush is on a snowmobile. From indoor to outdoor, there are several places to enjoy some ice skating. You can even cross bobsledding off your bucket list in Park City! Our community was home to some 2002 Winter Olympic events and offers a one-of-a-kind experience.

Spring

Spring is known as the off-season, but it can easily be considered the best time to visit Park City. You can save some money during this time and experience fewer crowds. You’ll love making easy or no reservations at the best restaurants and bars. Skiing runs until early to mid-April, so half of the season can be spent hitting the slopes and enjoying the snow. During the other half, watch as color takes over the mountains and everything seems to blossoms. There are countless ways to enjoy the stunning landscape and vibrant town. It makes for a great place to plan your spring break whether it’s with friends or family.

Summer

Summer concerts are the highlight of the season in Park City and Deer Valley. The Deer Valley® Music Festival eight-week-long summer concert series in July and August. There are dozens of different performances and genres to enjoy. Snow Park Outdoor Amphitheater hosts several summer concert series each year especially when there is warm weather. Park City is also an outdoor lover’s dream during the summer. Mountain biking, hiking, paddleboarding, and so much more are all in full swing!

Fall

Fall is a stunning time in Park City! Our area’s fall foliage is trademarked by golden aspens and reddish scrub oak. The deep yellows and reds are a breathtaking sight that bring the promise of the upcoming ski season, cooler temperatures, and great adventure. Lucky for you, we know all the best places for panoramic views of the autumn colors. Some of our other favorite fall activities include fly fishing, getting spooked during a Park City ghost tour, and going for a horseback ride.
